Registered Social Worker
Liza Peters
Liza Peters, RSW, BSW is a registered social worker and graduate from the University of British Columbia dedicated to supporting individuals and families navigating various health challenges and social barriers. With a background in child and youth disability justice and community-based intervention, Liza aims to build a robust support system for the patients of Get Well Family Health Team and the broader North York community.
Rooted in trauma-informed, family-centred practice, Liza believes equitable and accessible care is an integral part of improving Ontario’s healthcare system. She uses a holistic lens to ensure each patient has their physical needs met in conjunction with their mental, emotional, spiritual and social needs to get (and stay) well. Liza is pleased to join the team of interprofessional healthcare providers at GWFHT and is keen to offer their case management, resource navigation and patient advocacy skills.
In her spare time, Liza enjoys various creative activities like painting, claymaking, crocheting, and collaging. Working in childcare during university revitalized her interest in arts & crafts and card games. She loves skiing, camping and (most) water sports, especially canoeing and kayaking.
